Explore the crystal clear waters of Wild Harris with Daryll
The waters around the Isle Of Harris are among the richest in the UK. During the summer months, when the days are long and water has warmed, a huge abundance of life fills our waters, from the tiniest plankton to the second largest fish in the World. Daryll has a degree in marine biology and is a confident free diver.
In 2017, when working as the North Harris ranger, Daryll formed a partnership with the Scottish Wildlife Trust to form Scotland's second snorkel trail. The trail consists of six different sites, each highlighting different habitats. By booking a snorkelling session with Wild Harris, you will be guaranteed to get the most from any of the trail sites or be guided to some hidden gems rarely glimpsed by human eyes! You can expect to see fish, crabs, starfish, jellyfish and a multitude of different coloured algae (seaweed), amongst many other things.
We are getting our own adult sized 5mm wetsuits and new masks and snorkels for you try this year. Children will need their own wetsuits. We can supply them and you with hoods, gloves and wetsuit socks to go inside flippers.
